CNR's radio network was the predecessor of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation it operated as a radio network for passenger. CRBC -- the Canadian Radio Broadcasting Commission took over the CNR radio facilities and started to broadcast in English and French. In 1936 A new Canadian Broadcasting Act created the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation which was established as a crown corporation. Until 1958 the CBC acted not only as broadcaster but also as the regulator of Canadian broadcasting. The CBC began broadcasting television in addition to their radio services in 1952.

This recording contains CBC segments which include interviews and clips with University president Dr. Elizabeth Parr-Johnston. This recording is two sided. Side A from 00:00:00 to 00:07:54 contains an interview done by Peter Gzowski of CBC's Morning Side with University Presidents including; Dr. Jackie Scott (Cape Breton University), Dr. Marion Frye (University of King's College), Dr. Elizabeth Parr-Johnston (Mount Saint Vincent University), Dr. Geraldine Kenney-Wallace (McMaster University), Dr. Lorna Marsden (Sir Wilfred Laurier University), Dr. Eva Kushner (University of Toronto) and Dr. Susan Mann (York University). From 00:09:55 to 00:11:32 Bruce Cameron reports on Nova Scotia University funding with clips from Dr. Elizabeth Parr-Johnson. From 00:11:32 to 00:16:36 is a CBC broadcast which does not include Dr. Parr Johnston. From 00:16:38 to is a recording of CBC's program Morning Side with a show on politics in which Dr. Johnston is not involved which ends with music. Side B is another Morning Side broadcast with Peter Gzowski which is an interview with University Presidents; Dr. Eva Kushner (University of Toronto), Dr. Jackie Scott (Cape Breton University), Dr. Lorna Marsden (Sir Wilfred Laurier), Dr. Marion Frye (University of King's College), Dr. Susan Mann (York University), Dr. Geraldine Kenney Wallace (McMaster) and Dr. Elizabeth Parr-Johnston from 00:00:00 to 00:45:30.
