'96 Reunion [moving images]

This recording contains a slideshow which celebrates the 75th anniversary of the graduating class of 1922 as well as other graduating classes from the Mount such as the class of 1973-74 This recording is a slideshow of photographs from various years which shows various students, faculty and Mount Saint Vincent's building. This recording contains a video which celebrates the work and life of Dr. E. Margaret Fulton, previously University President at the time of recording. There are many photos in this video which depict Dr. Fulton's life including her time at the Mount. There are additionally many clips of Dr. Fulton being interviewed, lecturing and giving speeches. This video additionally contains a discussion between Dr. Fulton and Dr. Ursula Franklin (Professor of Engineering at the University of Toronto) and Ruth Goldbloom (Chair of the Board of Governors at MSVU). This recording contains original music from Simon Kendall and was narrated by Patti Allan.

A Salute to the Class of 1939 [moving images]

This recording contains a video which contains a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the graduating class of 1939. This recording includes a slide show of photographs and videos of the Mount and Halifax in the late 30s as well as an interview with Dr. Florence Wall, a Mount Alumni and previously the Chair of the Board of Mount Saint Vincent University. Dr. Wall is interviewed by Mary Kelly (Graduating class of 1979). In this interview Dr. Wall and Mary Kelly discuss the Mount in 1939, the Sisters of Charity, and a number of items of cultural significance such as; Ben's Donuts, the Green Lantern (Halifax restaurant), prefab housing in Halifax, Simpsons (women's clothing store), Birney Street cars, Marcus shows and dances, the Lord Nelson ballroom and reception room, Orpheus theater (movie theater), the Dominion grocery store (first grocery store in Halifax) and the Knights of Columbus hut. Photographs of all of these cultural events and items are shown in this video. This recording additionally shows newsclippings from 1939 which tells the history of the beginning of WWII. Along with these newsclippings is a radio show called "For Women Only" hosted by Vita Moore [sp?]. This radio show discusses the first day of spring. This recording additionally includes video clips of the royal visit from George VI and Queen Elizabeth in June 1939. The salute to the class of 1939 ends at 00:45:52. From 00:47:47 is a recording on preventing unionization. This video is made by the National Film Board of Canada and is titled "Who Wants Unions"
