The series also consists of a survey conducted by the Registered Nurses Association of Nova Scotia on Nursing Schools in Nova Scotia (1966).

This series consists of recordings of lectures given as part of the Seton Lectures. The Elizabeth Seton lecture series was founded in 1978 when the Sisters of Charity established an endowment fund for a lecture series with the general theme of Christian presence in the world. This lectures series was intended to reinforce Mount Saint Vincent University's commitment to understand the truth, intellectual vigour, and social responsibility.

The lecture series is named after the founder of the Sisters of Charity in North America, Elizabeth Seton.

The records cover the years 1970 to 2011 and include material from Kenneth Dewar’s time with various universities, including Mount Saint Vincent University, University of Victoria, University of Toronto and Wilfred Laurier University. Professor Dewar was an active member and chair of the History Department at MSVU.
