This series consists of textual material produced at least in part, by the Mount Saint Vincent Student Union. This series is largely comprised of the student union produced paper, The Picaro. The series also contains student handbooks (which began being consistently produced by the Student Union in the 1970’s), a Student Union publication called Wednesday Night, the Council Communique (newsletter), Her Voices (newsletter), the student calendar, and other miscellaneous publications.

Financial Documents

This series contains various financial documents relating to Mount Saint Vincent’s Student Union. Some documents relate to the spending of various societies while others relate to the businesses run by the Union such as the corner store (Crow n' Go) and pub (Vinnie's Pub). Others relate to the general spending of the Union. The primary document type within this series is financial statements. The series also includes budgets, schedules of revenues and expenses, a breakdown of student union fees and how they are spent, auditors’ reports, and other miscellaneous financial documents.

Regulations

This series contains information about regulations which relate to the Mount Saint Vincent Student Union. The series contains documents that relate to the Mount’s Open-Door Policy Agreement with other local universities as well as documents outlining the regulations regarding the use of the Mount’s logo by the Student Union.

Businesses and Services

This series contains information about the businesses and services which are owned and operated by the Mount Saint Vincent Student Union. Presently, the series contains information about Vinnie’s Pub. The series contains a pub management agreement and related documents, statistics regarding pub revenues and attendance, and documents related to pub renovations.

Committees

This series contains information about internal and external Mount Saint Vincent University committees, on which members of the student council serve or work in conjunction with. The series contains an internal and external subseries to separate the committees that are internal and external to the university. The internal committees include Graduation Photographer Committee, Building Committee, an Advisory Committee on the Status of Women, a Student Liaison Committee, and Student Affaires Committee. The series also includes the Student Aid Advisory Committee, which is a provincial government committee and is external to the university.

Governing Athletic Organizations

This series consists of records concerning the intercollegiate athletics programs the Mount was a member of. Programs include the Atlantic Women's Intercollegiate Athletic Association, the Canadian Women's Intercollegiate Athletic Union, and the Atlantic Universities Athletic Association. Included are correspondence, various reports, minutes, by-laws, championship lists, tournament lists, and participation lists.

Athletic Teams

This series consists of textual and graphic material related to the athletic teams at the Mount. The series includes participation lists, photos, and team rosters of the many MSVU sports teams and organizations. The majority of photos in the series are general recreation photos or are of the men’s and women’s basketball teams since they are the longest standing teams at the university. Other teams/groups included in the series are the athletics/recreation society, the women's soccer team, the co-ed badminton team, the women's volleyball team, the men's hockey team, the cross country running team, the women's field hockey team, the golf club, and the slow pitch baseball team

Series forms part of the Patrick O’Neill fonds and consists of plays collected by Patrick O’Neill, as well as, some correspondence.

Grounds Files

Series consists of materials relating to MSVU grounds. Records primarily pertain to grounds maintenance, including landscaping, plant and tree locations, watering schedules, plant purchases, turf repair quotes and plans, soil samples, grounds boundaries and measurements, gift trees, memorial benches and plaques, pest control, and pesticide information. Series also includes certain records on the design and construction of the E. Margaret Fulton Communications Centre and the Margaret Norrie McCain Centre.

Series contains information on the Sister Lau arboretum, the Freda Wales walking trail, as well as the community and butterfly gardens. Informational documents also include gardening tips and articles, the history of MSVU grounds, campus maps, newsletters, and records related to initiatives such as plant swaps and “plant of the week.”

Series also includes safety information, including WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System), safety training, safe-operating procedures, safety minutes, handbooks, brochures, and articles.
