'96 Reunion [moving images]

This recording contains a slideshow which celebrates the 75th anniversary of the graduating class of 1922 as well as other graduating classes from the Mount such as the class of 1973-74 This recording is a slideshow of photographs from various years which shows various students, faculty and Mount Saint Vincent's building. This recording contains a video which celebrates the work and life of Dr. E. Margaret Fulton, previously University President at the time of recording. There are many photos in this video which depict Dr. Fulton's life including her time at the Mount. There are additionally many clips of Dr. Fulton being interviewed, lecturing and giving speeches. This video additionally contains a discussion between Dr. Fulton and Dr. Ursula Franklin (Professor of Engineering at the University of Toronto) and Ruth Goldbloom (Chair of the Board of Governors at MSVU). This recording contains original music from Simon Kendall and was narrated by Patti Allan.

A Salute to the Class of 1939 [moving images]

This recording contains a video which contains a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the graduating class of 1939. This recording includes a slide show of photographs and videos of the Mount and Halifax in the late 30s as well as an interview with Dr. Florence Wall, a Mount Alumni and previously the Chair of the Board of Mount Saint Vincent University. Dr. Wall is interviewed by Mary Kelly (Graduating class of 1979). In this interview Dr. Wall and Mary Kelly discuss the Mount in 1939, the Sisters of Charity, and a number of items of cultural significance such as; Ben's Donuts, the Green Lantern (Halifax restaurant), prefab housing in Halifax, Simpsons (women's clothing store), Birney Street cars, Marcus shows and dances, the Lord Nelson ballroom and reception room, Orpheus theater (movie theater), the Dominion grocery store (first grocery store in Halifax) and the Knights of Columbus hut. Photographs of all of these cultural events and items are shown in this video. This recording additionally shows newsclippings from 1939 which tells the history of the beginning of WWII. Along with these newsclippings is a radio show called "For Women Only" hosted by Vita Moore [sp?]. This radio show discusses the first day of spring. This recording additionally includes video clips of the royal visit from George VI and Queen Elizabeth in June 1939. The salute to the class of 1939 ends at 00:45:52. From 00:47:47 is a recording on preventing unionization. This video is made by the National Film Board of Canada and is titled "Who Wants Unions"

This recording contains the audio of two panels from the A Woman Today Seminar. There are two tracks on this recording. Track A begins with general announcements and welcome. From 00:01:02 to 00:03:15 Brenda Shipton, the chairman of the event introduces the first panel which consists of; Sister Marie Gillan, Jean Hartley [sp?], Dr. Jacques Goulet and Dr. Tony Bruder [sp?]. From 00:04:00 to 00:31:50 the attendees (who have been separated into groups prior to this recording) read notes from their group discussion on how women identify themselves and are identified by others. From 00:32:12 to 00:34:54 Tony Bruder reacted to the panel. Jean Hartley also reacted to the panel from 00:34:56 to 00:40:41 as does Dr. Jacques Goulet from 00:40:52 to 00:54:08. From 00:55:11 to 01:17:52 comments and questions are presented from attendees. There is no audio from 01:20:12 to 01:21:12. At 01:21:12 a new panel begins. The panelists are introduced from 01:21:38 to 01:22:31 which includes; Marilyn Kelly, Shirley Fishman, Sister Agnes Martha, Joan Cooke, Mary Casey, Maragret Kripton, Mrs. Richard Goldbloom, Betty Perks, Caroline Goodfellow, as well as a reactor panel which includes; Maureen Lyle, Sister Geraldine Anthony, Reverend Don Shipton and Father Barry Wheaton. From 01:22:31 to 01:29:52 Marilyn Kelly discusses making choices as a single woman. From 01:30:00 to 01:35:46 Shirley Fishman discusses making choices as a student. From 01:35:54 to 01:44:10 Mary Casey discusses making choices as a working woman. From 01:44:15 to 01:51:24 Sister Agnes Martha discusses making choices as a religious woman. From 01:51:4 to 01:59:35 Margaret Kripton discusses making choices as a working wife and mother. From 02:00:02 to 02:12:01 Betty Perks discusses making choices as a mother at home. From 02:12:22 to 02:30:30 one of the panelists discusses making choices as a divorced woman. From 02:30:48 to 02:41:01 one of the panelists discusses making choices as a volunteer. Afternoon Convocation 2001 [moving images]

This recording contains the presentation of the Alumnae Award for Teaching to Judith Scrimger, the Award for Research Excellence to Dr. Fred Harrington and the Award for Instructional Leadership to Dr. Elizabeth Bowering. The Award for Instructional Leadership was created in 2001. This ceremony recording additionally contains the conferring of an Honourary degree to Beverly Mascoll who was absent from the ceremony. Formal closing was given by Mary Louise Brink, Chancellor of the University and Congregational Leader of Sisters of Charity.

Alumnae Reunion ‘97: Academy Reception and Golf Tournament [moving images]

This recording contains video of the 1997 Reunion which celebrates multiple graduating classes of Mount Saint Vincent. This video includes speeches from; Shirley Nickelson, President of the Alumni Association, a speech from University President Dr. Sheila A. Brown, a member of the Sister of Charity and the Executive Vice President of the student union during the academy reception. There are also interviews from various alumnus after the reception. There is additionally clips of the golf tournament in this recording as well as video recording from a dinner which took place after the golf tournament where prizes are awarded to golfers (generally humorous awards). There is also a recording from the annual alumni dinner which includes a speech from University President Dr. Sheila A.
